We attended the LeadingAge Annual Meeting and Expo in Nashville a couple of weeks ago and heard an interesting discussion about the top seven trends their members likely will face during the next five years.
Although the LeadingAge community of not-for-profit organizations primarily represents the field of aging services, most any type of organization probably will encounter these trends:
1. Expanding and/or renovating aging facilities
2. Meeting future consumer needs
3. Managing culture change, as in how to adapt operations, facilities and marketing training
4. Providing leadership training for staff
5. Creating innovative models for care, such as home health (or delivering new or improved product and services)
6. Fundraising (or ensuring profitability and growth)
7. Prioritizing technology needs
As a technology company, we’re focused on trend No. 7 and will offer our assistance to customers in implementing a technology strategy and solutions that prioritize the protection of people and property and then the prevention of business disruptions.
Everything we do to help customers revolves around risk management and the prevention of ignorance-based loss … of life, property, business and convenience/comfort.
Risk management is serious business, but there’s a way to do it better, through situational awareness. Originally a military term referring to a pilot’s operational status, in our world it means knowing what’s going on in and around an organization so the right actions can be taken to address an unfolding situation in the right way.
In even simpler terms, if you can read, hear and see what’s happening around you, then you can do something about it. With proper event histories/reports, you also can analyze your emergency response protocols and other compliance metrics.
Watch our webinar to learn more about what situational awareness is, what its components are, and how your organization can use it to better protect people, property and business, including real-life case studies.
And speaking of case studies, if you’re a current user of our Situational Awareness and Response Assistant (SARA), please share your success stories or any example of how you use the situational awareness technology to improve safety, security, environmental monitoring and mass notification.
