Don’t Wait. Communicate. Make a family emergency plan today. September is National Preparedness Month.
September is National Preparedness Month, it is used to educate and empower Americans throughout the year to prepare for and respond to all types of emergencies.
While we never know when a disaster may strike, it is imperative that everyone takes action to prepare for a potential emergency situation. Unfortunately, fewer than half of American families report having an emergency response plan. By proactively training our families and ourselves how to respond during an emergency we are able lessen our risk and make first responders’ jobs easier. The steps we take to educate ourselves on preparedness will make a great difference in how our families and communities will respond to the unexpected.
Here’s Where to Start
Each September, National Preparedness Month encourages us to be prepare ourselves for disasters and emergencies in our homes, businesses and communities. Use this month as a reminder to work together with your family, co-workers and neighbors to solidify your preparedness plan.
