Plans to expand use throughout county municipality buildings
COLUMBUS, OH., October, 7, 2019 – Status Solutions announced today a partnership with Blount County, Tennessee for county-wide deployment of SARA (Situational Awareness and Response Assistant). The technology will give county employees immediate access to first responders. Recognized as one of the oldest counties in Tennessee, Blount County stretches across 558 square miles of the state. The Blount County Board of Education and County Commission approved $445,000.00 funding to be allocated to this safety and security resource. They will use the software to send customized alerts and video feed from school cameras directly to the Blount County E-911 Communications Center.
SARA is an automated alerting system that integrates all alarm and communication systems, enable detailed alerts to automatically go to the right people on the right devices – from smartphones to computer screens to public address systems. SARA provides a wireless sensor network, integration tools and mass notification capabilities all on one powerful platform. With SARA, disparate life safety and security systems work together so that key personnel, select groups or entire populations can receive specific information about an unfolding situation and how to respond – or avoid it. This technology allows users to leverage existing systems and create a completely customized solution.
Blount County Schools will initially equip staff at their two high schools, four middle schools, and an alternative learning campus with mobile duress buttons. Additionally, staff at all 14 Blount County elementary schools and government buildings will be able access the software to trigger alerts from desktops or mobile devices.
Don Stallions, Director of General Services said, “The safety of our students and staff is our top priority. We wanted to give both our staff, and our first responders the tools they need to keep everyone safe and we are thrilled to be doing that with this partnership.”
“We feel very fortunate to partner with local government in an effort to improve the safety and security of our schools through this remarkable, cutting edge technology,” said Rob Britt, Blount County Director of Schools. “In a potentially dangerous situation, this capability will allow first responders to assess and respond to situations more expediently.”
“We are proud to partner with Blount County and looking forward to working alongside them to prioritize the safety of their students, staff, and residents,” states Mike MacLeod, Status Solutions President and CEO.
